Closet Essentials: Footwear BLK
In all of our closets we each have some shoes that we love, some that are beat up, and some that we even hate yet still keep from some odd reason. While sitting in my room one-day sort of at a stand still for what to write about for my next blog post, I was browsing through the internet for some ideas. I then stumbled upon a long list of “fashion blog ideas” and for each idea I tried to think of what I would talk about and if I couldn’t come up with enough things I crosses it out. It wasn’t until I then came upon the idea of essential shoes every girl must have. I started to look through my closet and I noticed some options, this was really exciting for me! This may sound dumb but I was just so excited because I finally had some fresh new fashion related content to actually put on my blog, and that really made my heart skip a beat especially when I noticed a trend with the shoes I was picking. They were all black; this would help me to make my post just a tad bit more specific and unique from other posts about shoe essentials.
Fun Fact about me… Little details and small steps towards a larger goal really get me excited. Seeing things start to piece themselves together and work in my favor really get me all giddy inside you wouldn’t believe it!!
So on to the post, my five items include the Classic Bootie, the Modern runner, the Chic Chelsea Boot, the Casual Color Block, and the Comfy Flat.
The Classic Bootie is an obvious must have for every girl because we all need that one heel which is simple, goes with everything, and is easy to switch from day to night. Your booties don’t have to look exactly like mine. You can get a shoe to your liking by choosing a different cut, style, and height all depending on your style. In the image I am wearing simple Nine West bootie.
The Modern Runner is a simple yet sophisticated shoe which I’m absolutely in love with. They are comfortable enough to work out in and walk around in all day yet they exude style all at the same time. This style of athletic footwear is definitely a must have because they have multiple functions. They can serve as a shoe for the gym/jogging, but they can also serve as a cute and stylish sneaker you throw on with jeans to run a quick errand. In the image I am sporting the Fierce Quilted Puma.
As for the Chic Chelsea, this isn’t a go to shoe for me and it isn’t something I wear all the time, but I feel as though it is an important shoe to have or something similar. This shoe is flat and comfortable yet it adds to a fashion forward look. If you are going to an event where you need to be dressed up and fashion forward yet you don’t want to wear heels. The Chelsea boot is a good alternative which is simple enough to add while maintaining a chic look and keeping your feet happy. I don’t remember the exact brand of the boots but I know they are from Nordstrom.
Now the Casual Color Block definitely is a favorite of mine, they have been around for years yet the have made a comeback and everyone probably has a pair already. The more popular style are the white ones with black stripes, but I wanted something different. I’m happy that I went with these shoes because they are a comfortable sneaker which is super laid back and has a mellow tone to them. I like the fact they aren’t too bright and in your face but the white stripes on the sides helps to give it that simple pop which definitely makes a difference. These shoes are really chill and go with everything which is why I love them. The sneakers shown are the Adidas Superstars in black and white.
The final essential every girl should have in her closet is the Comfy Flat. The shoe I’m wearing is just an example, your “Comfy Flat” doesn’t have to specifically be this. I just feel that an UGG shoe or something similar is what every girl needs to have. To me it is important to have that easy shoe which is just furry, soft, and makes you feel like your walking on clouds. Basically a lazy day shoe that you wear with sweats or any other comfortable “in the house all day attire”. The color of this shoe also makes a huge difference, the darker the better, it helps to add to the comfortable state that you are in while wearing these shoes. The vibe would completely change if you were to be wearing a bright orange comfy flat. The shoe I’m wearing is the UGG slipper in black.
So overall these are the five black footwear items I feel are essential to have in your closet during the colder months. All of these shoes serve a specific purpose and are important. I believe that if you only had these five shoes items in your closet you would be set and have something to wear with everything for the most part. I don’t wear all of these shoes all of the time but I’m not sure what I would do if I were to not have them, because they all do come in handy at one point or another.
