Where Have I Been: The Practically Poised Hiatus
So, you may have been wondering, “What happened to Practically Poised” or “Why hasn’t Tyanne posted to Practically Poised”, well here’s what happened…
BASICALLY, I’VE BEEN STUDYING ABROAD IN ROME, ITALY. Ive been here since January 7th, I’m almost three months into my study abroad experience and I have learned so much. My initial intent while abroad was to bring my Practically Poised Readers along with me for the journey. Consistently posting fashion forward images and telling short stories from my trips to go along with the pictures.
THAT’S WHEN IT HIT. I realized juggling school, living in a new country on my own, traveling on the weekends, and making the best out of this opportunity would be way too much weight on my shoulders. I wanted to take this once in a lifetime opportunity and to really delve deep into the experience. Yes, I love taking great pictures, writing for Practically Poised and inspiring those who come to my page for guidance and of course it was possible for me to consistently update my blog. But I realized that I wanted to use this time instead to take a break from everything. To take time out for myself and to invest in my own self growth as I travel down this amazing journey. I wanted to fully embrace Rome from an experiential way, rather than as a place with amazing photo opportunities.
I NEEDED THIS BREAK. I am the type of person who is consistently busy and my mind is always racing with what I need to do next. Being away has allowed me to relax and to slow down. I haven’t been jumping on and off the walls, Im actually at peace and mentally and physically.
I would have loved to be able to post all my trips and stories to my blog, but I knew for my own sanity it was something that I couldn’t do. I’m used to being on top of everything and worrying today about what’s to come in 2 weeks, but the peace study abroad has brought me has shown me what its like to let go and go with the flow.
SO IF YOU STILL ARENT CLEAR. What I’m trying to say, basically I will be taking a break from blogging and the Practically Poised brand until I come back to the U.S. If you want to keep up with me and my adventures while abroad, follow my Instagram (@Tyanne_Jeannie) which I update on a regular basis.
